"To manage the complexity of secure online data storage that keeps your business up and running."

Data Systems Development, Inc., incorporated in December of 2000 by Jeffery Scott Crump, is an Iowa based company that provides a secure online data storage service, a secure online data archiving service, a medical dictation service, and an appointment confirmation service.

The virtualTapedrive data storage service was launched in July of 2004 after a one year live test and another year in development. virtualTapedrive protects small businesses and individuals from a catastrophic loss of data for as little as five dollars per month. The virtualTapedrive data storage service is poised to grow significantly in 2006 with the execution of the Lynch Interactive Communications agreement, and with the development of our reseller networks in the US and Canada.

The virtualBackend data archiving service, released in July of 2005, provides very cost effective term based storage for producers of electronic documents such as hospitals and courthouses. Utilizing the secure technology and infrastructure of the virtualTapedrive, virtualBackend charges a one-time-fee of only a few pennies to store a document for several years. The one-time-fee offered by the virtualBackend service reduces the complexity of managing the costs associated with long term data archiving. With the steady enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) all medical practitioners and organizations will be required to securely store their data off-site. Also, city and state courthouses are coming under increasing pressure to securely store their documents off-site in electronic form.
