virtualTapedrive
virtualTapedrive is the software front end to Data Systems
Development's online storage service. It provides a simple, but
comprehensive, interface for managing your online remote storage needs.
For your long term storage needs, virtualTapedrive allows you to store a
file once and then retrieve it at a later date; such as a spreadsheet from
previous years. To manage files that change frequently, virtualTapedrive
allows you to schedule routine backups on selected files and file folders.
It even allows you to automatically append files to the backup sets.
Our Routine backup works like a virtual tape rotation. Each day, your
Routine backup files are stored and grouped as a virtual tape. You can
recover any file off of any virtual tape that you have. A full 7 day, 52
week and 12 month rotation schedule
In those cases where you want to store a set of files at a particular
point in time, virtualTapedrive takes a Snapshot of those files. For those
Critical files which need to be stored off site immediately after a
change, virtualTapedrive manages a mirrored copy of those files.
Finally, virtualTapedrive provides a Shared backup where users can make
selected copies of their files available to others for restoring.

virtualArchive
The virtualTapedrive data backup service has been extended to provide a
bulk data storage port for use by organizations that create documents and
files that need to be archived only once and stored for a specific period
of time.
The system has been enhanced to price data storage using a one-time-fee per file. This one-time-fee is based upon the file size
and the duration.
Since this new service uses the existing code base of the
virtualTapedrive, the same secure communications and redundant file storage can be
maintained.
For organizations that think in terms of documents you can create
"per-document" pricing, or even price out storage on a
"per-patient" basis.
The virtualArchive gives you the flexibility to design a storage plan that
will meet your document archiving needs.
